Episode 16 - Conway TikTok drama

"Never get into a TikTok battle with the teenage daughter you've just infected with Covid" might not be a common political proverb, but this is 2020! In this short bonus episode we wade into the recent TikTok drama between Claudia Conway and her mother - Trump insider Kellyanne Conway.

We wanted to release a little bonus episode because there's been much talk around the social media about a tick tock video by Claudia Conway. And as a blind person, no matter how much flap there is about a tick tock video, I'm never going to go watch it. So JJ and I were talking about it. And it turns out it's even more interesting than I had suspected. So JJ is going to do some description for us. So take it away, JJ. Yeah.

So this Claudia Conway stuff! I'm not a big tik tok user. I saw it being referenced on social media and so I jumped into it a little bit. I waded into it. And so apparently, Claudia Conway has a very popular tik tok channel. Is that what it is? I don't know she's she's very popular on tik tok. She has been doing videos. This is the daughter of Kellyanne Conway, former presidential aide and fixer. She works with Trump and she's still invited to lot of the events that are ongoing. And Kellyanne's daughter, Clau ia, is a is very anti Trump. Sh is vocal about it and says all kinds of things online. She s a 15 year old teenage girl, y ung woman with dyed blonde hair. And she tends to wear a lo of makeup in her videos, inclu ing a lot of lipstick that makes her lips look quite, quite plu ped and lots of eye makeup and ake eyelashes and mascara and whatnot. But she posts vi eos where she's not in her makeu as well. Often she's lying on her bed flopping around. She was posting a lot of these video in the last few days as Do ald Trump admitted that he had COVID-19. And as it starte to spread throughout the Republ can Party, and different mem ers were saying they had COVID and they had tested positive. He e's young Claudia, who's, you k ow, posting all sorts of stuff a out these political leaders from the inside, but she's doing it a it as a teenage girl. So s e's doing it with anger, and s e's doing it with frustration, and she does not care about the politics of her parents. Sh has been bold. So the first se of Tick Tock she released ab ut this when her mom said I go tested and it was negative. So Claudia spent the day with he. And then the next day, Ke lyanne said she was positive an she had just spent the day wi h her daughter. And so Cl udia goes on tik tok, and st rts in these videos are often im ges of her so it's like she's fi ming selfies, again, with the ma eup sometimes she's wearing li e a looks like a black sports br. She's flopping around on he bed. And a lot of the videos ha e text printed across them ju t simple white text. So the me sages often come in what sh's writing, not just what sh's saying. And sometimes sh's got things going on at the sa e time. So she says she first se ds a tick tock saying my mo her said she was negative, bu she's really positive. She li d to me. And now I have COVID to. And then her mother gets on ti tok. She's she has this fi ht with her mother on tik to, where her mum's like, how da e you and they're swearing at ea h other. And it ends this vi eo ends with her mother sa ing you're not filming me ag in, are you and then the th ng gets shut up in credibly dr matic. But, but you can't ne essarily. If you're if you're lo king through a screen reader, don't think it'll help yo because all of this is, is tex written on top of images. So yo can get some of the audio fo some of these fights. But th messages like she's got one her that says a little clarificatio from my brothers, my previou posts. My mother claims that sh did not lie to me, she had thre tests done first negative secon to positive, we were not i communication in communication I misinterpreted it. So that' what's written over the vide where they're fighting with eac other. So there's a lot goin on. And then of course, the fac that she's a, she's 15, he mother, Kellyanne said, yo know, send something out onlin saying like, everyone, pleas like, let's keep in mind, thi is a 15 year old girl. And, yo know, it's one thing to have fight with your teenager privately. It's another thing t do so publicly, and it's on thing to feel like, Oh my God why do people take this huma being seriously? she's just a teenager. And it's another thing to say publicly don't take this human being seriously. She's just a teenager! Especially when you've just given them COVID right? So it's quite a show Quite a show
